About these roles
Pune has a deep IT, automotive-software and product-engineering base, so testing roles range from embedded and enterprise QA to cloud-native automation.
QA engineers make sure software works before users find the problems. Day to day that means understanding requirements, designing test cases, running functional and regression tests, logging clear defects and increasingly writing automation.
Employers hiring QA engineers in India usually ask for a mix of manual testing fundamentals, API testing, one automation tool and comfort working in agile teams.
Skills employers ask for
- Test case design
- API testing (Postman)
- Selenium or Playwright
- SQL basics
- Jira and bug reporting
- CI/CD basics
How to improve your chances
- Put your strongest automation or API project at the top of your resume with a measurable result, such as regression time saved.
- Mirror the exact tool names in the job description (for example Selenium, Playwright, Postman) only if you have really used them.
- Prepare to explain how you would test a login page or an API endpoint; it is a very common interview opener.
